If you're looking for a great way to get the family together outside, book a free Orvis class to get started. Fly fishing is a sport the whole family can participate in. All ages are welcome to attend this store-based course, but those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Bring the whole family and learn what this great sport is all about.

Local Waters

Edinburgh is well situated for any fly fishing enthusiast with excellent trout and salmon fishing only a short drive away on the Tweed, Tay and Teith. Wild Brown Trout fishing is available in rivers and lochs around Edinburgh but also in The Water of Leith which runs through the centre of the city. There are also a good number of stocked rainbow trout fisheries easily reached for an afternoon's fishing.

Fiona eventually moved in to retail, working for various well-known brands, and joined in the Orvis Edinburgh team at the end of 2015. As well as being the proud holder of the AAPGAI Advanced Single Handed qualification, Will also holds the Scottish Game Angling Instructor (SGAIC) and Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) instructor qualifications.

Graeme has 26 years of fly-fishing and fly-tying experience in both running and stillwater trout fishing. He is a qualified fish-farm and fishery manager and occasionally guides around Scotland. He specialises in all aspects of competition loch-style fly fishing and regularly competes at the national and international level.

John is a professional fly fishing Guide for Alba Game Fishing. He is a highly experienced casting instructor and holds the SGAIC single and double hand qualifications. John is disclosure Scotland checked (safe to work with minors) and a trained first aider. John is patient, kind and holds great angling wisdom. He is also an accomplished Fly Tier and his patterns are truly unique. John holds expert knowledge in all aspects of angling and is very happy to share his knowledge.
