Store Manager: Lacey McKay
No stranger to the world of retail, Lacey cut her teeth at a young age, working at her family’s pharmacy when she was just a kid, stocking shelves and mailing bills. She put her skills to good use in the subsequent years; she managed a bar during college, spent a decade at Old Navy at multiple locations, and put in two years at the Belk department store chain, where she managed their flagship store. A world traveler also at a young age, Lacey headed overseas when she was just thirteen on a seven-country, twenty-one-day sponsored trip. It was there she developed a love of traveling, museums, and history. But it’s outside where Lacey loves to spend most of her time and has embarked on adventures from Estes Park in Colorado to Acadia National Park in Maine. Though not an avid fly fisher yet (she plans to fish more with her angler husband), Lacey has had some experience bait fishing off the pier with her Snoopy rod under the watchful eye of her Pappy when she was a little kid. Hey, we all started somewhere! Lacey looks forward to meeting new and returning customers alike at Orvis Huntersville, sharing stories, and inspiring others to start their next outdoor adventure.
Fishing Manager: Ron Randle
Hailing from the south side of Chicago, Ron grew up spending his summers fishing the lakes and rivers from Chicago to Door County, WI. Angling has always been an important part of Ron’s life, but it wasn’t until he picked up a fly rod that things really clicked. As he told us, “From the very first time I stepped into the water, I felt connected to fishing and the outdoors in a way I had never experienced before. From that moment on I tried to spend as much time as possible on the water.” True to his word, Ron has fished waters across the US and beyond, including the Green River, the Gunnison, the Truckee, the Ketchikan River, the flats of Belize; dozens of rivers and streams in North Carolina, as well as the Mackenzie, Willamette, Metolius, and Crooked Creek in Oregon. A long and storied career as a creative director in the advertising industry finally led Ron to his current position at Orvis Huntersville, which, according to Ron, is exactly where he should be. “If I were to write the perfect job description for myself,” he told us, “it would look a lot like my Fishing Manager position here at Orvis.” Ron’s eager to share his passion with fellow anglers and guide them to the gear they need for their angling adventures.
